About Me

Hello, I’m Janiece! Originally from California, I moved to Seattle in 2015 to pursue birth work. I have always been drawn to birth. During college, a Medical Anthropology class I took deeply affected my perspective of birth. The course set me on a trajectory to becoming a doula, and I avidly began learning more about birth practices and outcomes. Subsequently, I knew I wanted to support pregnant people in understanding their birthing options and feeling empowered through their experience.
I take inspiration from witnessing the strength and tenacity of each individual I support, regardless of how their birth unfolds. Birth is a profound and transformational experience that leaves a lasting imprint on your heart. I believe the best birthing outcomes are created in any space that you feel most comfortable and confident; in a hospital, birth center, or in your home.
I approach birth with an open heart. I offer positivity, knowledge and support without judgement throughout your experience. Each birth plan reflects the truth that we all have unique needs and desires. I work to fit within your birth and postpartum plan, helping you and your loved ones feel completely supported. I have a strong background in yoga and meditation. I find these tools highly applicable to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of birth. Every expectant parent deserves compassionate, continuous care, a dedicated support team, and confidence to guide their own journey. I am honored to have a role in serving families through this beautiful experience.

What is a doula? |
Doula is a Greek word meaning 'woman servant or caregiver'. Birth doulas are trained and experienced in childbirth. They provide continuous emotional and physical support to pregnant people and their families before, during, and after childbirth.
Studies have shown, using a birth doula has helped to lower use of medical intervention and increase overall satisfaction with birth experiences, creating more positive long term memories. For more information, you can also find the benefits of having a doula on DONA's website here. |
